After the Phrygians destroyed all the important towns in Central Anatolia eliminating the Hittite Empire, fragments of the Late Hittite Kingdoms sprang up around central and southeast Anatolia. The Late Hittite Kingdom in Cappadocia was the Tabal kingdom, which extended over Kayseri, Nevsehir and Nigde. Rock monuments from this age, with Hittite hieroglyphics can be found at Gulsehir- Gokcetoprak. Than we will also see an interesting monastery complex and St. John’s church, adorned with beautiful frescoes, which is carved inside the rock. After we will Visit Karavezir Seyit Mehmet Pasa complex, which was built in the 18th century. We will visit Tatlarin Underground City. The toilet in it demonstrates that toilets were being used in Anatolia around 3000 years ago. There are many food storage areas and churches within it. It is believed to have been used as a center for religious or military purposes judging by the large size of its rooms. Outside we can visit original rock dwellings and church with well preserved original frescoes, a statue of Zeus from Hellenistic times, Roman ruins and a late Hittite ruin with hieroglyphic inscriptions.
